It’s a known fact that the pleasure and enjoyment from experiences you undertake are far more satisfying and long-lasting than the impact of physical items that you acquire.  So, next time you see that watch, or bracelet, or camera, or whatever, think twice and consider an alternative.

Vacations, if planned correctly, can deliver experiences remembered the rest of your life.  No matter if you commit to a week, two weeks, a month, or more, in addition to being a welcome break from your normal day-to-day routine.  Vacations can make a difference – impacting the individuals, couples, families or groups.

The destination and planned activities can make a difference in one of three (3) ways, or combination thereof:

The Individual

  • Learning a new skill or enhancing old ones, like cooking, SCUBA diving, photography, skiing, kayaking, a new language
  • Overcoming personal fears/limitations, like heights (mountain climbing, zip line, sky diving), camping in the wild, animals & insects, the dark, being “off the grid”
  • Introducing yourself to unfamiliar countries and cultures around the World
  • Visit and experience the wonder of any or all of the “Seven Wonders of the World”
  • Research the UNESCO World Heritage Sites and immersing yourself in the History of the World exploring sites and civilizations that had an impact on where we are today
  • Getting back in touch with yourself, your significant other or spouse and/or your family away from the distractions of daily life, telephone, internet, television and radio

The Planet – a.k.a. Embracing a Sustainable World

  • Expeditions and tours focused on “Green” initiatives
  • Expeditions and tours focused on endangered species
  • Research the World Protected Areas indigenous to your travel plans and visit them, understanding how you can help to preserve them

The People

  • Think of yourselves as short term “Peace Corps” volunteers as well as “Good Will Ambassadors”
  • Share your strengths and interests with people around the World who can benefit from them
  • Find ways to immerse yourself in the culture you find yourself in and strive to make a difference with actions and words rather than writing a check

If any of the above bullet points piqued your interest and you are ready to move forward and plan a vacation that will make a difference, let’s sit down and talk and begin the process.  If not, and seven days on a beach or by a pool, or cruising the Caribbean is more your cup of tea, we can recommend a traditional Travel Professional who will ensure that your destination and experience will meet, or exceed, your expectations.
